TERMS & CONDITIONS
IN STUDIO APPOINTMENTS / OFF SITE APPOINTMENTS
All contracts/dealings between The Home Salon Sydney - Kristie Defino (ABN 25 941 729 163 ) and any person (‘Customer’) relating to any goods or services provided and supplied by T.H.S.S (The Home Salon Sydney) Kristie Defino to the Customer through the website thehomesalon.com.au (‘Website’) are subject to the terms and conditions of trade set out below (‘these Terms’).
By using the Website, the Customer agrees to be bound by these Terms.
The Home Salon Sydney has the right to remove or vary these Terms at any time without notice. It is the Customer’s responsibility to be aware of any changes made to these Terms and by continuing to use and visit the Website the Customer agrees to be governed by these Terms and Conditions.
T.H.S.S reserves the right to withdraw the Services without notice and will NOT be liable (if for any reason) the Website is unavailable during any period.
1. BACKGROUD
· These terms and conditions govern your booking and use of The Home Salon Sydney Makeup & Hairstyling (Service).
· By booking or using a Service, you indicate you have read, understood and accept these terms and conditions.
2. HOW IT WORKS
· Bookings for a Service is made via email or by filling out the correct form for the service you are after via the contact page.
· Please advise time & date. (Tuesdays & Wednesdays only for trials and hairdressing in studio only.)
· Pay the booking fee.
· We will send you a confirmation email and reminder SMS before your appointment.
· Your appointment is not confirmed until proof of payment is received (screen shot of receipt).
3. PAYMENT
· The booking fee is in Australian dollars.
· The booking fee is payable at the time of booking.
· You are not booked in until proof is sent through.
· The booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable * under any circumstances.
. If you decide to pay in full and cancel/arrive late your appointment you will not be entitled to a refund. Pay in full at your own discretion.
4. CANCELLATIONS
· You can manage your bookings, including cancellations, by contacting us at www.thehomesalon.com.au
· If you change your mind or/and cancel an appointment, we will retain the booking fee paid (by way of liquidated damages).
· We reserve the right to cancel your appointment for any reason and at any time, without notice to you. If we do so, we will provide you with a refund of the booking fee.
. Cancellations due to Covid-19 will not be refundable or transferable.
5. LATE ARRIVALS
· If you are late to your appointment, we may need to shorten the length of your appointment or change the Service you have booked.
· If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we may, at our absolute discretion cancel your appointment & your booking fee will not be able to be used at a later date.
. If you arrive late to your appointment (based on if Kristie has availability to do it) and if it causes Kristie to finish your makeup/hair after hours, you will be charged an out of hours fee.
6. NO SHOWS
If you do not attend your booked appointment, we will cancel the appointment and retain the booking fee (by way of liquidated damages). The remaining amount of your booking is to be paid or you will not be booked in again.
7. YOUR APPOINTMENT & EXTRA INFO
· Please note that this studio is located at Kristie’s family home. The studio space is not large and therefore if you want to bring someone along to your appointment you must ask first. We reserve the rights to turn away guest who have not booked in to have a service(s).
· Due to high demand, we work on a first in best dressed procedure. Bookings are not held for any longer than 24 hours after agreeing with service provider on time and date. Booking fees must be paid within this time frame or the space will open up again.
8. ADDITIONAL CHARGES
MAKEUP
· Arriving with any makeup on and not following our prep notes will result in a removal fee from $20 and possibly shortened appointment.
· Out of hours (before 8am & from 5pm) incur additional fees. Stated upon booking.
· Makeup bookings will incur an additional fees. Stated upon booking.
· Bookings can be made for Public Holidays; however, surcharges will apply. Stated upon booking.
HAIRSTYLING
· Arriving with unclean or wet hair or not following our prep notes will result in an extra charge fee from $100 and possibly shortened appointment.
9. PRIVACY POLICY
In order to provide better service to our valued customers, T.H.S.S Makeup & hairstyling may request personal details such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address. If you choose to withhold requested personal information, The Home Salon Sydney / Kristie Defino may not be able to provide you with the customer service you require should that depend on the collection of that information, particularly if the collection of that information is required by law.
T.H.S.S (The Home Salon Sydney) / Kristie Defino Value your Privacy and will not sell or disclose the Customers personal information/details to any third party without the customers consent unless in the purpose of purchase/deposit or if necessary, to comply with laws, investigations or legal proceedings
10. GOVERNING LAW
· These terms and conditions are governed by the laws in force in Sydney, Australia.
· By booking or using a Service, you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Sydney.
11. COVID - 19
· We are now in our 3rd year of Covid-19 and are fully aware of the risks associated with contracting the virus. If you fall sick and need to cancel your appointment your booking fee will not be refundable or transferable and will result in a loss of your booking fee.
*IMPORTANT NOTE - CHANGES BEYOND OUR CONTROL
If a significant change is made for reasons beyond our control, then, to the fullest extent permitted by law but not otherwise, we are not liable to compensate you. These include: war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics, pandemics, health risks, changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of event; closed or congested airports or ports, hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, act of government or public authorities or other circumstances amounting to force majeure and/or Acts of God.
Booking fees may be made transferable if any of the above occurs, subject to availability. Booking fees will remain non-refundable.

These user terms are a legal document, by ticking the box you accept and agree to all terms and conditions on your booking/services with Kristie Defino or
The home salon sydney, and agree to these user terms across all services.
PRICING
All prices are subject to change without notice, unless a final quote has been given and 50% deposit has been paid. Extra fees and charges apply for hair extensions, hair pieces/accessories, out of area expenses, destination weddings, flights and accommodation.
PAYMENTS - The person scheduling the appointments is responsible for all payments.
REFUNDS - Kristie does not offer refunds for any completed services. Therefore if you are in any way dissatisfied, the onus is on the client to discuss with Kristie while she is on location. please note 50% deposits are non refundable across all services. All discussions regarding refunds/discounts will be entered into on a case-by-case basis and must be communicated via email.
TRAVEL/PARKING FEES - A standard callout fee of $100 is applied to all services performed outside of our studio location - additional charges apply for travel fee starting from $50 to $100+ this fee is added to all services the actual price is pending location, distance and toll roads, additionally a $70 -$150+ callout fee or early morning bridal callouts. In the event that any motel/hotel and street parking fees are incurred as a result of the location of appointment, these will be passed on to the client and a required to be paid before completion of service to kristie or artist doing service.
EXTRA PEOPLE WANTING STYLING - If any additional people require makeup or hair styling on the day, but do not have an appointment, this is not a problem providing there is time after everyone from the original booking is completed first. Payment can be made in cash or instant eft payment only on the day.
CANCELLATIONS - You are asked to kindly give a minimum of 6 weeks notice if you wish to cancel or change an appointment. Cancellations or missed appointments without prior written notice will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of total booking cost. All deposits are non-refundable. Cancellation of any bridal service must be given in writing by via email. If a cancellation is made after you confirm your booking, by paying your 50% deposit your 50% deposit will be kept by Kristie. If you cancel your wedding day within 8 weeks of the date booked, then you must pay 100% of the booked amount quoted.
TRIALS - Customers are required to pay 50% deposit by EFT on the day of making the booking with remaining 50% due one week prior event date via cash or EFT. Four weeks notice must be given in writing via email if you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to do so means you will be charged full fee's - the initial 50% deposit is non refundable, however can be and moved to the new appointment date as long as we have received written request of date change and have availability.
BOOKING FEE - Booking is subject to availability. Upon booking with Kristie, a 50% non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your appointment/wedding date. If you choose to reschedule your wedding day you must notify us in writing before the 6 week period of original date booked, if Kristie is available for that day your booking fee can be transferred.
PHOTOS/VIDEOS - To assist with future hairstyles and makeup looks and for promotional purposes, Kristie may take photos/videos prior, during and upon completion of any styles and looks she and her team create. These photos may/will be used for public display (website, social media, business cards, etc) If you are uncomfortable with this and wish for your images not to be used, please advise Kristie in writing ahead of time, otherwise it is presumed that you agree for her to use your images as she sees fit.
OTHER - Kristie or any other artist working with her, are not, under any circumstances, responsible for any allergic reactions to products used. The onus is on the client to notify Kristie or her team if you have sensitive skin or have any known allergies. You are more than welcome to bring your own product that you are familiar with and Kristie or one of her team members will be happy to use that. In the rare event that Kristie should be unable to fulfil the booking, Kristie reserves the right to cancel, refer or transfer your booking at any point to another reputable and competent hairstylist or makeup artist.
AGREEMENT - By adding your details to the contact for bookings you are agreeing you have read and agree to our T&C and accept our terms and conditions of service.
